When Books Come to Life: The Story of Dj’ha

As part of the 2026 Algiers International Book Fair (SILA), the EUNIC Algeria Cluster invites children to explore the world of Dj’ha’s tales through a fun and interactive storytelling session held at the stand of the Delegation of the European Union to Algeria.

Led by storytellers Mahi Seddik and Hadj Ali, this event invites children to enjoy an immersive and interactive experience, bringing stories to life through expressive readings, theatrical storytelling and visual elements. Through captivating tales and lively exchanges with the audience, children will be drawn into the fascinating world of Dj’ha, an iconic figure of oral storytelling traditions whose adventures skilfully blend humour, wit and folk wisdom.

A moment of sharing and discovery to celebrate the art of storytelling, spark the imagination and pass on to younger generations the joy of telling and listening to stories.
